Then add tomato paste, and dried seasonings, powders and garlic salt. Toast 1-2 minutes
Deglaze with Red Wine or Balsamic
Then add Tomato Sauce and let reduce until thick
Add more Balsamic if necessary for added sweet acidity
THE DOUGH
Combine 1 cup of flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add garlic powder
Add Olive Oil and Warm Water and use a wooden spoon to stir well
Gradually add another 1 cup of flour. Add additional flour as needed. Stir until the dough forms into a cohesive, elastic ball and begins to pull away from the bowl. Dough should still be sticky but manageable with your hands
In a separate bowl, drizzle with olive oil. Use a pastry brush or your hands to cover the sides of the bowl
Lightly dish your hands with flour and form pizza dough into a round ball and transfer to bowl with olive oil. Roll dough around until it is covered with olive oil. Then cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap and place it in a warm place.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Allow dough to rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size
Once dough has risen. Gently deflate dough with hands and transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead dough until smooth
Use either hands or rolling pin to work the dough into a 12” circle
Transfer dough to a pizza pan and pinch edges to form a crust
Drizzle olive oil over dough and use a pastry brush to cover dough. Then poke holes all over dough with a fork.
Add desired toppings and bake in 425 degree oven for 13-15 minutes or until toppings are golden brown.
